A small supply: the water ration
The Standard Water Ration’s in-game description, shown in the source walkthrough, specifies 750 ml of Basewater when poured into a liquid container. Prepare enough free capacity and check what is already in the container before pouring. The ration’s displayed value during a crisis is not a universal selling price. [1]
- Choose a suitable container. Read its contents and remaining capacity.
- Pour in the ration. Use the ration’s liquid-container interaction, following the current item instructions.
- Check the result. Confirm the resulting water grade and amount. Do not assume every source of water produces Basewater.
Dirty water: check the handheld purifier
The HydraTech Micro Water Purifier is a handheld tool whose documented effect raises a container’s water to Basewater. It is different from the overnight Water Purifier machine.
Its item text gives a cost of 1 durability per 100 ml. The example gift shown in the walkthrough has 75 durability remaining, out of 300—not a full tool. At that rate, 75 durability represents 7.5 litres of treatment. Check your own tool before relying on that amount. [1]
The documented Eleanor reporting branch can offer a handheld purifier as one of the thank-you gifts. That storyline contains spoilers.
Know what the water source actually gives you
| Source or tool | What it means for Basewater |
|---|---|
| Standard Water Ration | A documented 750 ml Basewater supply when poured into a suitable container. |
| HydraTech handheld purifier | Treats existing water to Basewater, subject to remaining durability. |
| Gutterflow / Rustwater taps | Sources of raw water. Their names describe water that still needs treatment. |
| Water Trading Starter Kit | Includes starting tools. Do not mistake the handheld purifier for the separate automatic machine. |
The water walkthrough lists the tap supplies and starter tools separately. For a higher target grade or larger production setup, continue to the purification workflow. [1]
